Man jailed in Duraz bombing case

ManamaA man involved in a bombing in Duraz has had his prison term upheld. He was earlier given five years behind bars. 

The defendant is implicated in a bombing occurred in 2012 in the village located in northern Bahrain. 

Thirty-six other defendants were convicted in connection with this crime. Four of them were handed down four years’ imprisonment, while the remaining received jail terms between five and 10 years. 

The culprits are said to have planted two explosive devices and lured police officers into the scene by rioting. 

Four cops got injured as a result of the explosions, two of whom suffered serious wounds, according to the court files.

The defendants had been charged with rioting, possessing firebombs, detonating bombs, possessing explosives, attacking on-duty cops and taking part in an illegal gathering.
