Palestinian rivals agree to hold election within six months

GAZA

In a turn of events, Palestinian factions have agreed to conduct an election within a time frame of six months reported Reuters News agency. This is expected to end more than a decade of the fight between President Mahmoud Abba’s Fatah movement and Hamas.

Reuters quoted Sami Abu Zuhri, a Hamas official as saying “The two sides have agreed in principle to hold elections within six months”.
Fatah official Jibril Al-Rajoub confirmed the agreement and said Abbas would issue a decree setting a date said the news agency.
