Shura Council: Coalition efforts will restore security in Yemen

The Shura Council said that after successfully achieving the objectives of the “Operation Decisive Storm”, the launch of the “Operation Restoring Hope” in Yemen by the Arab coalition reflected the regional awareness that political and humanitarian processes should go hand in hand with the military operation.

“This will ensure the return of stability to Yemen and deter foreign support to extremist Huthi militias to reach a political system that is agreed upon by all Yemenis through comprehensive national dialogue,” it said.

In a statement issued yesterday, the Shura Council exuded confidence that the joint efforts of the coalition and international community would restore security and stability to brotherly Yemen, and protect the Yemenis from the painful events that had gripped the country.

The Shura Council confirmed that the Security Council’s resolution, the GCC Initiative and the outcome of Yemeni National Dialogue will together create a solid basis to combat terrorism and reconstruct Yemen.

The Council lauded the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in coordination with Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) to send relief aid to the Yemeni people. “It’s a kind gesture that reflects Bahrain’s supportive stances towards Yemen and the region’s security, and commitment towards brotherly countries,” the statement added.
