Jerusalem: A coalition of major Jewish organisations has warned that antisemitism has become "the new normal" after 2025 recorded the deadliest year for Jews living outside Israel in more than three decades.

A report by the J7 Large Communities' Task Force Against Antisemitism said 20 people were killed in antisemitic attacks during 2025, while more than 23,000 antisemitic incidents were recorded across seven of the world's largest Jewish diaspora communities.

The report found that Australia recorded the sharpest rise in reported incidents, while Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Argentina also continued to experience historically high levels of antisemitism. Online abuse, physical assaults, vandalism and harassment all increased significantly.

The task force urged governments to strengthen laws against hate crimes, improve security for Jewish communities and hold social media platforms more accountable for the spread of antisemitic content, warning that inaction could allow the trend to worsen.
