Visit Qatar Returns as Presenting Partner for 2026 Qatar Goodwood Festival

Qatar strengthens global sports presence with expanded partnership at prestigious UK horse racing event

Visit Qatar will return as the presenting partner of the Qatar Goodwood Festival presented by Visit Qatar 2026, as the Kingdom continues to strengthen its presence in international sports and tourism.

The second edition of the partnership will take place from July 28 to August 1, 2026, at Goodwood Racecourse in West Sussex, United Kingdom, bringing together some of the world’s leading racehorses, jockeys, and equestrian enthusiasts.

Building on the success of the inaugural partnership in 2025, Visit Qatar’s continued collaboration with one of Britain’s most prestigious flat racing events reflects Qatar’s long-standing commitment to global sporting excellence and its close relationship with Goodwood Racecourse.

As part of the 2026 festival, Visit Qatar has announced a major increase in the prize money for the Visit Qatar Sussex Stakes, making it the most valuable one-mile flat race in Europe. The move is expected to further elevate the prestige of the event and enhance Qatar’s position as a leading supporter of international horse racing.

The festival, known for its combination of elite racing, fashion, and hospitality, attracts visitors from around the world seeking a premium sporting experience.

Visit Qatar will hold exclusive naming and ownership rights for six races during the festival, including:

  • Al Shaqab Goodwood Cup – Tuesday, July 28
  • Visit Qatar Sussex Stakes and Qatar International Stakes – Wednesday, July 29
  • Qatar Nassau Stakes – Thursday, July 30
  • King George Qatar Stakes – Friday, July 31
  • Qatar Lillie Langtry Stakes – Saturday, August 1

The Visit Qatar brand will feature prominently across key areas of the festival, including the Richmond Enclosure, where a dedicated Visit Qatar Pavilion will showcase Qatari culture through immersive experiences.

Festival attendees will also have the opportunity to explore Qatari cuisine through a culinary showcase by renowned Qatari chef Salman Al Jaidah, while the Visit Qatar Lounge will provide a platform for engagement with international partners and tourism industry representatives.

The partnership forms part of Visit Qatar’s wider strategy to expand its global visibility, strengthen connections with international tourism and sports communities, and promote Qatar as a world-class destination offering diverse experiences for travellers.
