Washington: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has warned that allowing Iran to take control of the Strait of Hormuz would establish a ‘dangerous precedent,’ as tensions over the key route rise.
Rubio said that the United States cannot let Iran selecting which vessels are allowed to sail through the strait, which is one of the world's most critical energy corridors. His comments came amid concerns that tensions might impede shipping through the small route, which transports a large portion of the world's oil supply.
