NEET UG 2026 topper Aryan Gupta aims to become an oncologist

New Delhi: Aryan Gupta, who received the highest All India Rank (AIR) in NEET UG 2026, has expressed a desire to become an oncologist, citing a deeply personal experience. The Punjab student said that losing his grandmother to cancer boosted his determination to seek a career in cancer treatment.
Gupta received 715 out of 720 marks on the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2026, making him the country's top-ranked student. He credited his accomplishment to careful preparation, diligent study, and the constant encouragement of his family, teachers, and mentors throughout his path.
Speaking after the results, Gupta said that his desire extends beyond receiving a medical degree, and that he hopes to contribute to breakthroughs in cancer care and better the lives of individuals suffering from the disease. He defined medicine as a career that allowed him to combine intellectual achievement with significant public engagement.
The NEET UG examination is India's most significant medical entrance exam, and it acts as the entry point to undergraduate medical programs throughout the country. Following the unveiling of the results, Gupta's achievement and defined career aim gained great recognition.
