Bangkok Bar Fire Death Toll Rises to 30; Safety Probe Underway

Bangkok: The death toll from the fire at Bangkok's Rong Beer Na Ladprao music bar has grown to 30, with another victim dying from burn injuries, Thai authorities announced on Monday.
The fire broke out during a live concert at the packed theatre, killing a few individuals and wounding over 70 more. Many of the injured are still hospitalised, with several said to be in critical condition.
Police have initiated an inquiry into alleged safety violations at the establishment, with a focus on reports of blocked emergency exits, insufficient fire safety precautions, and the use of flammable interior materials. Officials are also investigating whether the venue followed building and fire safety rules.
The disaster prompted Thai officials to conduct inspections of Bangkok's entertainment venues to ensure adherence to fire safety requirements and prevent future incidents. If negligence is proven, individuals involved may face criminal prosecution.
