Kuwait called on the United Nations Security Council to take a firm and decisive stance against repeated Iranian attacks targeting its territory, airspace, and critical civilian infrastructure, as well as recent attacks on the Kingdom of Bahrain. Kuwait described these as blatant violations of international law, the UN Charter, and the sovereignty of states.

The appeal was made by Kuwait's Chargé d'Affaires to the United Nations, Minister Plenipotentiary Faisal Al-Enezi, during an emergency session of the UN Security Council held under the agenda item "The Situation in the Middle East." The meeting was convened at the request of Bahrain to discuss the latest Iranian attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain, including the missile strikes carried out on June 28.

Al-Enezi stressed that Kuwait holds Iran fully responsible for the attacks, while reaffirming that Kuwait has never been, and will never be, a party to any military escalation. He emphasized that the country has not allowed, and will not allow, its land, airspace, or territorial waters to be used as a launching point for hostile actions against any state.

He said Kuwait's position stems from its longstanding policy of respecting the sovereignty of states, maintaining good neighbourly relations, and adhering to international law.

The Kuwaiti representative noted that since the beginning of the recent escalation, the country has been subjected to repeated missile and drone attacks, which in previous phases resulted in casualties, injuries, and damage to civilian facilities and vital infrastructure.

He added that the readiness of Kuwait's armed forces and the efficiency of its air defence systems prevented even greater losses, stressing that protecting the lives of citizens and residents, as well as safeguarding the country's territory, remains a national priority.

Al-Enezi also reaffirmed Kuwait's full solidarity with Bahrain, stressing that the security of Kuwait, Bahrain, and all member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is indivisible. He said that any attack on a GCC country constitutes a direct threat to the collective security of the region and welcomed the strong Gulf, Arab, and international condemnation of the attacks.

Calling on the Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities, Al-Enezi urged members to send a clear message rejecting Iranian aggression and condemning all actions that undermine the sovereignty, security, and stability of states. He also called for the effective implementation of relevant UN resolutions and warned that the absence of accountability would encourage further escalation while threatening international maritime navigation and civilian infrastructure.

Despite the attacks, Al-Enezi reaffirmed Kuwait's belief that lasting peace and regional stability can only be achieved through dialogue, de-escalation, and peaceful means. He welcomed ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at ending military operations and reducing tensions.

He also praised mediation initiatives led by Qatar and Pakistan, alongside several friendly countries, while emphasizing that any future regional security arrangements must safeguard the interests of GCC member states, respect international law, and uphold the sovereignty of nations.
