CHICAGO: A security emergency unfolded aboard a Frontier Airlines flight bound for Chicago when a passenger attempted to breach the cockpit and exit doors, eventually choking an off-duty flight attendant who tried to intervene.

The disturbance occurred during Flight 3591 from San Diego to Chicago O'Hare International Airport. According to authorities, a male passenger became highly aggressive mid-flight and made a desperate attempt to force his way into the secure cockpit and open a cabin emergency exit door. Recognizing the immediate danger, an off-duty flight attendant stepped in to neutralize the threat but was violently assaulted and choked by the suspect.

As the situation escalated, other crew members and quick-thinking passengers ran forward to assist, successfully pinning the aggressive traveler down and restraining him for the remainder of the journey.

The aircraft landed safely at O'Hare, where Chicago Police Department officers immediately boarded and took the suspect into custody. The off-duty flight attendant who sustained injuries during the assault was transported to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation, while federal authorities began an investigation into the mid-air crisis.
