New Delhi: The foreign ministers of the United States, Japan, Australia, and India will meet in New Delhi on May 26 for a “Quad” grouping dialogue, according to Japan’s foreign ministry.

The meeting will bring together top diplomats from all four countries, with Japan’s Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi expected to travel to India for a three-day visit starting Monday. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will also attend the talks as part of his visit to India after a NATO meeting in Sweden.

The Quad is a strategic partnership between the four countries focused on cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region, including security, trade, and regional stability.

The upcoming meeting is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen coordination among the four democracies amid growing geopolitical competition in the region, particularly concerns about China’s influence.

Rubio’s participation highlights Washington’s continued engagement with the Indo-Pacific allies, even as the US manages multiple global diplomatic priorities.

The New Delhi talks are expected to further align positions on regional security challenges and deepen cooperation in areas such as critical infrastructure, technology, and maritime security.
