US Approves $108.1 Million Missile System Support Package for Ukraine

Washington DC: The United States has approved a potential $108.1 million military equipment sale to Ukraine aimed at supporting and maintaining the country’s Hawk missile defence systems, as Washington continues to strengthen Kyiv’s air defence capabilities amid the ongoing war with Russia.

According to the US State Department, the proposed package includes equipment and services needed to sustain the Hawk missile system, which Ukraine has been using to defend against Russian aerial attacks. The approval has now been formally sent to the US Congress for review.

The Hawk system is a surface-to-air missile platform designed to intercept aircraft and other airborne threats. The latest package is intended to help Ukraine maintain operational readiness as Russian missile and drone attacks continue across the country.

US officials said the proposed sale supports American foreign policy and national security goals by helping improve Ukraine’s ability to defend itself and maintain regional stability. The package includes technical support, spare parts, maintenance assistance, and related equipment.

The approval comes as Western countries continue military support for Kyiv despite ongoing concerns about escalation in the conflict. Washington has repeatedly stated that strengthening Ukraine’s air defence network remains one of its top priorities.
