Jordan Senate chief begins official visit to Bahrain
Jordan’s Senate President Faisal Akef Al Fayez arrived in Bahrain on Sunday for an official visit aimed at boosting parliamentary cooperation and strengthening bilateral relations between the two kingdoms.
He was received upon arrival by the Speaker of Bahrain’s Shura Council, Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, who welcomed the Jordanian delegation and highlighted the longstanding ties between Manama and Amman.
Al Saleh said relations between Bahrain and Jordan are built on decades of cooperation and mutual respect, noting continued support from the leaderships of both countries for further development of their partnership.
The visit, made at the invitation of the Bahraini Shura speaker, is expected to include expanded talks between the two sides focusing on parliamentary coordination, legislative exchange, and ways to enhance institutional cooperation.
Discussions will also cover regional and international developments of shared concern, with both sides expected to underline the importance of continued consultation.
Jordan’s Senate president is accompanied by an official delegation.
Senior Bahraini officials attended the reception ceremony, including First Deputy Speaker Jamal Mohammed Fakhro, Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumeihi, who heads the Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee and the reception delegation, and Secretary-General Karima Al Abbasi.
The visit reflects ongoing efforts by Bahrain and Jordan to deepen parliamentary and political coordination.
