Iran has been playing games with the United States:Trump
US President Donald Trump on Sunday escalated his criticism of Iran, accusing the country of “playing games” with the United States and the wider international community for decades, while warning that such behavior would not continue in the future.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote that “Iran has been playing games with the United States, and the rest of the World, for 47 years (DELAY, DELAY, DELAY!).” The statement came without any direct reference to recent reports about Tehran’s response to Washington’s latest peace proposal, leaving uncertainty over the current state of backchannel or formal negotiations.
The remarks reflect Trump’s continued hardline stance on Iran, particularly regarding long-running tensions over nuclear negotiations and regional security issues. While he did not provide specific policy details, his message suggested growing frustration with what he described as repeated delays in diplomatic engagement.
Trump also accused Tehran of mocking the United States, saying Iran had been “laughing at our now GREAT AGAIN Country.” He added, however, that this would soon change, stating: “They will be laughing no longer!” The comments signal a more confrontational tone as discussions surrounding Iran’s international dealings continue to attract global attention.
