Saudi Arabia Sets 10-Day Vaccination Deadline Ahead of Hajj 2026
Ministry of Health Saudi Arabia has announced that pilgrims must receive recommended vaccinations at least 10 days before the start of the Hajj season, as part of enhanced preventive measures for one of the world’s largest annual gatherings.
The ministry emphasised that immunisation plays a critical role in safeguarding public health, helping pilgrims build adequate immunity and reducing the risk of infectious disease transmission in crowded environments during Hajj.
Health authorities have recommended vaccines for Meningococcal disease, COVID-19, and Seasonal influenza, noting that these are essential in limiting the spread of infections among pilgrims.
Appointments for vaccinations can be scheduled through the Sehhaty app under adult immunisation services, making it easier for individuals to access healthcare ahead of the pilgrimage.
The ministry added that vaccines can be administered either together or separately depending on medical assessment. All approved vaccines meet safety standards and are considered suitable for eligible groups, including pregnant women.
The directive is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader efforts to ensure a safe and healthy Hajj season by strengthening preventive healthcare measures and minimising public health risks.
