The UAE Ministry of Defence confirmed on 9 April 2026 that the country’s air defence systems did not detect any ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, or unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Iran in the past hours. The Ministry said that since the beginning of what it described as Iranian attacks, UAE air defence systems have intercepted a total of 537 ballistic missiles, 26 cruise missiles, and 2,256 UAVs.

It added that no injuries were recorded in the latest reporting period, keeping the total number of injuries at 224. The injured include individuals of multiple nationalities. The Ministry also stated that no fatalities have been reported in the past hours.

It noted that since the onset of the attacks, the total number of deaths has reached two, in addition to one Moroccan civilian contractor with the Armed Forces. Overall civilian fatalities stand at 10, according to the statement.

Reaffirming its position, the Ministry of Defence said it remains fully prepared to deal with any threats and will respond firmly to any attempts to undermine the UAE’s security, sovereignty, and stability, while continuing to safeguard national interests.
