U.S. President Donald Trump has dismissed Pam Bondi from her role as Attorney General, appointing Todd Blanche as acting Attorney General on an interim basis.
In a statement, Trump said Bondi would be transitioning to a “new job in the private sector,” while praising her performance during her tenure. No official reason was provided for her removal.
However, sources familiar with the matter indicated that Trump had expressed dissatisfaction with Bondi’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case. Additional concerns were reportedly raised over what some viewed as a lack of prosecutions targeting political opponents.
