Kochi: A 10-month-old baby has become the youngest organ donor of Kerala, India, giving a new lease of life to five people after she was declared brain dead following a tragic road accident.

Alin Sherin Abraham, daughter of Keralite couple Arun and Sherin, was critically injured in a car accident on February 5. Despite intensive medical efforts, doctors declared her brain dead on Thursday. In an extraordinary act of courage amid unimaginable grief, her parents consented to donate her organs. Her liver, kidneys, eyes, and heart valve were successfully retrieved and transplanted, saving and improving five lives, including that of a 10-year-old girl.

Hospital authorities said the infant’s donation has brought hope to multiple families and highlighted the life-saving impact of organ donation. Alin’s selfless final gift has left behind a powerful legacy, inspiring many across the state of Kerala.
