Saudi Arabia Launches Human Capability Initiative Conference
Saudi Arabia’s Human Capability Development Program (HCDP) has announced the third edition of the Human Capability Initiative (HCI) Conference, set to take place in Riyadh from May 3–4, 2026. The conference, themed “The Human Code,” will bring together more than 15,000 global leaders to explore the future of human capability development.
The conference will be held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia and Chairman of the HCDP Committee. The United Kingdom has been named Country of Honor, highlighting the strategic partnership between the two nations in education, workforce development, and economic cooperation.
HCI 2026 will feature over 250 local and international speakers, including policymakers, industry leaders, academics, and experts from the public and private sectors, as well as non-profit organizations and global think tanks. Discussions will focus on designing learning and working environments that enhance human potential in the era of artificial intelligence.
Youssef bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan, Saudi Minister of Education and Chairman of the HCDP Executive Committee, emphasized the Kingdom’s commitment to investing in people as a foundation for sustainable growth. He said,
"Human potential remains the most critical driver of progress in a rapidly changing global landscape. Investing in human capital is essential for building a competitive economy and a knowledge-based society. This conference reflects Saudi Arabia’s dedication to fostering a global dialogue on human capability development, aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives."
Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Kassabi, Saudi Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Economic and Social Committee of the Saudi-British Strategic Partnership Council, welcomed the UK as the Country of Honor. He noted,
"The United Kingdom’s role underscores the ongoing strategic cooperation between our countries, including initiatives like 'Skills of the Future,' launched at HCI 2025, which aim to advance education, workforce development, and economic collaboration."
Since its inception, the HCI Conference has become a leading international platform for dialogue on human capability development. The previous two editions attracted over 23,000 participants, featured more than 550 speakers, and launched over 150 partnerships and initiatives. The conference forms part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 Realization Programs, which aim to enhance citizens’ human potential and strengthen the Kingdom’s global competitiveness.
