New Delhi : Air India on Wednesday issued a travel advisory informing passengers that several of its flights are being rerouted or cancelled due to the emerging situation in Iran and the subsequent closure of its airspace.

In a statement, the national carrier said that Air India flights overflying the affected region are now operating via alternative routes, a move taken to ensure passenger and crew safety. The airline warned that the revised routing may lead to delays on certain services.

“Some Air India flights where rerouting is currently not possible are being cancelled,” the airline said, urging passengers to check the status of their flights on the Air India website before heading to the airport.

Air India expressed regret over the inconvenience caused, describing the disruption as unforeseen, and reiterated that the safety of passengers and crew remains its top priority.

The advisory comes amid heightened regional tensions that have disrupted aviation operations across parts of West Asia. Several international airlines are also believed to be monitoring the situation closely, with some adjusting flight paths to avoid the affected airspace.

Passengers are advised to stay updated through official airline channels and to check with their respective carriers for the latest information on flight schedules.
