GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ has teamed up with the Dubai Marathon to give runners a chance to attempt official world records during the race on February 1. The Dubai Marathon is marking its 25th anniversary this year.
The partnership allows participants to try for approved Guinness World Records titles while taking part in one of the region’s most established running events. The initiative combines athletic performance with creativity and community participation.
Runners can apply to attempt records in different categories and distances. These include themed costume runs, paired runs, group challenges, and endurance-based ideas, all judged according to Guinness World Records rules.
Some of the highlighted record attempts include:
Other possible records involve running with sports equipment, blindfolded running, roller skating, wearing formal or professional clothing, and other unique endurance challenges.
All record applications linked to the Dubai Marathon will be processed free of charge. Participants will also benefit from faster reviews and quick eligibility checks.
Any record attempt connected to fundraising must first receive written approval from an officially authorised charity in the UAE, in line with national regulations.
People with disabilities are also encouraged to apply. Guinness World Records provides special impairment classification categories to ensure fair assessment and inclusive participation for all runners.
