Angelina Jolie Visits Rafah Crossing as Gaza Aid Groups Face Israeli Clampdown
Egypt: Angelina Jolie, actress and former UN refugee envoy, visited Egypt’s Rafah Crossing on Friday amid growing restrictions on aid to Gaza, her representatives said. The visit came as Israel announced plans to suspend dozens of aid groups, with Jolie meeting humanitarian agencies and touring warehouses holding medical supplies denied entry into Gaza.
Israel earlier said aid groups that failed to renew registration would face suspension. During her visit, Jolie met Egyptian Red Crescent workers and other aid groups, urging the ceasefire to hold and calling for urgent, safe access for aid, fuel and medical supplies. She also thanked volunteers and is meeting Palestinian and Sudanese refugee families in Egypt, her office said.
