Hero who Wrestled Gun from Bondi Shooter Identified as Ahmed al Ahmed

Sydney: A courageous bystander who disarmed one of the Bondi Beach attackers has been named as 43-year-old Ahmed al Ahmed. The incident, captured on video, shows Ahmed bravely wrestling the gun from the attacker and turning it on him, forcing the gunman to retreat.

Ahmed, a father of two and owner of a fruit shop, is currently in hospital recovering from surgery for bullet wounds to his arm and hand. His family reports that he is a hero who acted selflessly to save lives.

The attack, which occurred on Sunday night during a Hanukkah celebration, has left 15 people dead and dozens injured. Authorities have declared the incident a terrorist attack targeting the Jewish community.

Ahmed's family and community are rallying around him, praising his bravery and selflessness. "He is a hero, 100% he is a hero," said his cousin Mustafa. "He doesn't discriminate between one nationality and another. Especially here in Australia, there's no difference between one citizen and another," added Ahmed's father.
