Saudi Foreign Minister Leads Delegation to 80th UN General Assembly in New York
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan departed on Friday for New York to head the Kingdom’s delegation at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
The Saudi delegation includes key officials, such as Princess Reema bint Bandar, Saudi Ambassador to the United States; Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Climate Envoy Adel Al-Jubeir; Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Al-Ibrahim; Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center; Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Rassi, Deputy Minister for Multilateral International Affairs and Supervisor General of the Ministry’s Public Diplomacy Agency; and Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to the UN.
During the General Assembly, Saudi Arabia will host a series of initiatives and high-level meetings aimed at strengthening regional and global security, diplomacy, humanitarian efforts, and development. Notably, the Kingdom will chair the international leaders’ conference on the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the two-state solution, alongside the ministerial-level meeting of the International Coalition for the two-state solution.
Prince Faisal and the delegation are also scheduled to participate in the UN’s 80th anniversary commemoration and engage in a series of official meetings focusing on advancing multilateral cooperation, addressing regional and global developments, and reinforcing international peace and security. Discussions will further cover collaborative efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
In addition to multilateral engagements, the delegation will hold bilateral meetings with representatives of allied and partner states, as well as senior officials from international organizations attending the high-level UNGA week.
