Iran is currently not allowing UN nuclear inspectors to access its facilities, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in an interview aired Wednesday.
Araghchi was referring to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which monitors nuclear programs worldwide. He explained that although Iran has an agreement with the UN to resume cooperation, the deal does not automatically grant inspectors access.
“The agreement itself does not create any access. The type of access will be negotiated later based on the reports Iran provides,” Araghchi told state television.
This development comes amid ongoing international concerns over Iran’s nuclear activities.
