Nepal's main international airport in the capital reopened on Wednesday, the Civil Aviation Authority announced, following a day of violent protests that caused extensive damage to government buildings and led to the resignation of the prime minister.
Domestic and international flights, which had been suspended since Tuesday, are now resuming, the authority confirmed in a brief statement. No further details on the flight schedule were provided.
The protests, sparked by political unrest, brought much of Kathmandu to a standstill and drew international attention to the country’s escalating political crisis.
