Beijing Rejects Calls for Economic Pressure Amid Ukraine War
China on Friday expressed strong opposition to efforts aimed at putting economic pressure on the country, following US President Donald Trump’s call for European nations to do so over the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said at a press briefing, “We firmly oppose the practice of constantly dragging China into the matter of the war, and we strongly oppose the imposition of so-called economic pressure on China.”
