Las Vegas Police Use New ‘Grappler’ Tool to Stop Carjacking Suspect

Las Vegas authorities have released footage showing their new “Grappler” tool in action during a dramatic carjacking incident.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) successfully stopped a suspect who allegedly carjacked his ex-girlfriend by forcing her out of her vehicle.

Law enforcement tracked the suspect’s car along U.S. Route 95 before deploying the Grappler, a tether-like device that attaches to a car’s rear axle and tire.

“As you’ll see in the video, the tool allowed our officers to bring this dangerous situation to a successful and peaceful resolution,” the LVMPD said in a statement.
