China Criticizes Potential UN Sanctions on Iran

China has criticized a move by European countries to potentially reimpose United Nations sanctions on Iran within 30 days.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said the action is "not constructive" and could harm efforts to reach a political and diplomatic solution on Iran’s nuclear program. He added that the Iranian nuclear issue is at a critical stage and that launching the Security Council’s snapback mechanism would undermine ongoing negotiations.
