Arab Leaders Reject Displacement and Settlement Expansion in Palestine

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the current Chairman of the Arab League Summit, alongside Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, presided over the extraordinary session of the Arab League Summit, known as the "Palestine Summit," in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital today. The summit convened with the presence of Arab monarchs, presidents, and leaders.
During the summit, His Majesty delivered a keynote address, extending greetings to the attendees and congratulating them on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan. He emphasized the importance of unity among Arab and Islamic nations to uphold shared values of moderation, tolerance, and peace.
His Majesty expressed his gratitude to President El-Sisi for his exceptional efforts in hosting the emergency summit and for the warm reception. He also extended a welcome to Syrian President Ahmed Shar’a and Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun, wishing them success in their endeavors for the progress and prosperity of their respective nations.
Reaffirming Bahrain’s stance as declared in the Bahrain Summit, King Hamad underscored that a permanent and comprehensive peace is the only viable path to securing the legitimate historical rights of the Palestinian people. He reiterated Bahrain’s firm support for the two-state solution, as outlined in the Arab Peace Initiative and various international resolutions. His Majesty firmly rejected any attempts of displacement or settlement expansion in Palestinian territories.
The King commended Egypt’s initiative regarding the Gaza Strip, urging collective support for the plan, which aims to strengthen regional solidarity, safeguard national security, and enhance collective resilience against common challenges. He emphasized the importance of preserving developmental achievements and fostering regional progress and prosperity.
In closing, His Majesty extended his appreciation to President El-Sisi for assuming the leadership of this critical summit, expressing his hopes for the success of the summit’s outcomes in addressing the pressing concerns of the Palestinian people. He concluded his speech by praying for the success and unity of the Arab world.
