Acer Unveils Predator Atlas 8 Gaming Handheld
Acer has unveiled the Predator Atlas 8 (PA08-I51), a new high-performance gaming handheld designed to deliver PC-level gaming experiences in a portable form factor. The device expands Acer’s Predator lineup and is powered by up to the latest Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor, targeting improved performance and battery efficiency for serious gamers on the move.
The handheld runs on Windows 11 and integrates Xbox Game Pass, giving users instant access to a large library of games along with streamlined system tools and gaming features, including Xbox Mode for faster navigation and gameplay access.
Performance Built for Handheld Gaming
At the core of the Predator Atlas 8 is the Intel Arc G-Series platform, featuring up to Intel Arc B390 graphics with support for ray tracing. The system also introduces Intel XeSS 3 AI-powered upscaling, designed to maintain high frame rates while improving visual quality and reducing stutter during demanding gameplay.
To support extended gaming sessions, the device includes up to an 80Wh battery, paired with Intel’s endurance-focused gaming optimization that dynamically balances performance and power consumption.
Advanced Cooling System
Acer has implemented its Predator AeroBlade cooling system, bringing a dual-fan setup to a handheld device. It includes a newly designed metal fan with ultra-thin 0.1mm blades, which helps increase airflow by up to 10%. A secondary plastic fan works alongside it, while Vortex Flow tuning improves internal airflow direction to maintain stable temperatures during heavy gaming loads.
Display and Audio Experience
The Predator Atlas 8 features an 8-inch WUXGA touchscreen display with a 120Hz refresh rate, VRR support, 500 nits brightness, and a 16:10 aspect ratio for smoother and more immersive visuals. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with DXC coating, reducing glare and improving durability.
For audio, the device includes DTS:X Ultra dual 2W speakers, while Acer PurifiedVoice AI noise reduction enhances microphone clarity for in-game communication.
Connectivity and Gaming Ecosystem
Designed for modern connectivity, the device supports Thunderbolt 4 ports, UHS-II microSD expansion, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4, ensuring fast data transfer and stable wireless performance.
Out of the box, the Predator Atlas 8 includes Xbox Game Pass access, enabling immediate gameplay across a wide range of titles on Windows 11.
The control system emphasizes customization and ergonomic design, aiming to provide comfort and precision for extended handheld gaming sessions.
