Saudi Arabia’s First Luxury Train, “Dream of the Desert,” Opens Pre-Reservations
Italian-crafted ultra-luxury train to offer immersive cultural journeys from Riyadh to AlUla and Al Jouf starting late 2026.
'Dream of the Desert' is set to become Saudi Arabia’s first ultra-luxury train, offering an exclusive “Made in Italy” travel experience across the Kingdom’s northern landscapes. Developed by Arsenale S.p.A., Italy’s leading company in high-end rail hospitality, the train will launch at the end of 2026, combining Italian craftsmanship, luxury design, and immersive cultural experiences.
Pre-reservations are now open exclusively at www.dreamofthedesert.com, with fully refundable fees, priority access to suites, and invitations to the inaugural celebration. Nightly rates vary by itinerary and include all meals and curated experiences onboard.
The project was officially unveiled during Tourise, the international luxury travel event, where Arsenale signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) to jointly promote and distribute the train experience. The initiative highlights a milestone in Saudi-Italian collaboration, integrating authentic Saudi heritage into luxury travel aligned with Vision 2030.
Five Themed Itineraries
'Dream of the Desert' will operate five curated journeys:

The Northern Sands: Three days from Riyadh to Al Jouf, exploring Marid Castle, Jubbah rock carvings, and desert nights.

A Taste of AlUla: Riyadh to AlUla, blending heritage and modern Arabia with exclusive desert camps and experiences.

Whispers of Jubbah: A two-day cultural journey through Jubbah’s prehistoric carvings and Diriyah.

Ramadan Nights: A special Ramadan itinerary onboard with iftar, suhoor, and stargazing in the desert.

Summer Mirage: A two-day summer journey with themed events, gourmet cuisine, and luxury comfort.
Luxury by Design
The train features 14 carriages, 31 suite cabins, and 2 royal suites for 66 passengers. Constructed in Italy, interiors designed by Aline Asmar d’Amman blend Italian design and craftsmanship with Saudi cultural authenticity, transforming the journey into a cultural and aesthetic experience.
