Alba basketball tourney today
The Alba-sponsored National Day Basketball Tournament gets underway today at the Alba Club in Riffa with the first match at 6pm between Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland (RCSI) and Bapco in Group A and followed at 8pm between Alba and Tatweer.
Alba’s team are considered as one of the top contenders for the tournament’s title this year and shows Alba’s strong commitment to involvement in community sporting events which is further supported by Alba’s CEO being a participant during the matches.
Speaking on the occasion, Alba CEO Tim Murray said, “ We, at Alba, take pride in supporting all types of sports as we believe that it is a great way to engage employees’ in team competition, as well as encourage the culture of sports amongst the employees and the people of the Kingdom.”
The tournament is played initially on a round-robin basis with the semi-finals set for 22 November and the final on 26 November.
