Bahraini-British motor racing team 2 Seas Motorsport qualified third yesterday for the seventh race of the Intelligent Money British GT Championship 2022, being held at the world-famous Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.

The 2 Seas pair of James Cottingham and Lewis Williamson, sharing duties behind the team’s #4 Mercedes AMGGT3 challenger, claimed their second-row grid spot after clocking a fastest lap time of four minutes 37.429 seconds during yesterday’s qualifying.

Cottingham and Williamson were a mere 0.261 seconds off the pole-winning pace of Barwell Motorsport in their #72 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo. Fox Motorsport claimed the other front row place in their #40 McLaren 720S GT3 with a best lap 0.023s slower.

There are a total of 17 GT3 cars set to compete in today’s two-hour race, which is scheduled to be held today at 1.25pm, Bahrain time. Aside from their overall grid position, 2 Seas were also third in the GT3 Pro-Am class. 2 Seas have had an impressive campaign so far in the British GT season.

Heading into today’s action, they are currently sixth on the GT3 Teams Championship standings with 57 points, with Cottingham and Williamson tied-seventh on the GT3 Drivers Championship table with 57 points apiece. Similarly, Cottingham and Williamson are also tied-seventh in the GT3 Pro-Am standings with 64 points each.

Following Spa, there will be two races remaining on the British GT calendar. The penultimate round of the season will take place at Brands Hatch in the UK on September 10 and 11, while the finale will be at Donington Park, also in the UK, on October 15 and 16. This round is the only event of the 2022 championship to be held outside of the UK.
