Bahrain Sports Day activities get underway today

The nation will be marking Bahrain Sports Day today and over the weekend, with various activities to be held at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.
Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority president and Bahrain Olympic Committee chief His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa stressed the importance of this national event in reinforcing sports for all.
HH Shaikh Khalid said that it helps boost awareness about the significance of sports in people’s lives and society, and in promoting psychological and physical health for the holistic wellbeing of individuals.
Bahrain Sport Day was approved as an event to be organised every year and involving all segments of the Bahrain society. All kinds of sports will be held.
