HH Shaikh Khalid praises national handball team’s strong technical levels

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA) and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), congratulated the President, members, and affiliates of the Bahrain Handball Federation (BHF) on the occasion of the first national handball team’s qualification for the final match of the 20th edition of the Asian Handball Championship that is currently being held in Saudi Arabia.

This achievement came after the team won its match against the Saudi team by scoring 29- 20. This match brought the two teams together on Saturday at the Ministry of Sports Hall in Dammam, and it was the semi-finals of the tournament.

His Highness praised the distinguished technical levels presented by the national handball team throughout the matches, which granted it the qualification for the 2023 World Cup finals for the sixth time in its history.

Moreover, His Highness stated that the team’s ability to reach this stage of the competition reflects the strong preparations made by the members of the team who carry highly competitive spirits and determination on achieving successive victories that put Bahrain in the finals of this Asian tournament.

Additionally, His Highness praised the efforts made by His Excellency MP Ali Isa Eshaqi, President of the BHF, in creating the ideal atmosphere for the team to prepare optimally for this participation and reach the finals of this event.

Moreover, His Highness appreciated the public attendance that supported the team in this participation and raised the morale of the team members to achieve positive results. His Highness hopes that the team would continue to provide the best athletic and technical levels in the final match to win the title of this edition of the tournament.
