Liverpool undefeated; Man Utd beat ex-boss Mourinho

Liverpool continued to roll along in the Premier League on Wednesday, while Manchester United got the better of former manager Jose Mourinho.

Divock Origi scored twice as Liverpool beat neighbors Everton 5-2 to stay eight points clear of Leicester City, who moved up to second with a 2-0 win over Watford, Deutsche press agency (dpa) reported.

The Reds set a new club record of 32 top-flight games unbeaten, extending their league unbeaten run in the Merseyside derby to 18 games.

Marcus Rashford gave Manchester United a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in their first meeting with Mourinho, who took over Spurs last month.

The loss will increase the pressure on embattled Everton manager Marco Silva, whose side fall into the relegation places in 18th.

The win lifts United to sixth and drops Tottenham two spots down to eighth.

Leicester climbed back into second with their home win over bottom-side Watford.

Goals from Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount gave fourth-placed Chelsea a 2-1 win over Aston Villa, while Wolverhampton Wanderers moved into fifth by beating West Ham 2-0 to extend their league unbeaten run to 10.

Southampton climbed out of the relegation places with a 2-1 win over Norwich, who remain second-bottom.
