Tornado CC outplay Strikers

Tornado CC clinched the Awali Cricket Club Invitational Cricket Tournament after defeating Strikers CC by two wickets.
Batting first after being put in, Strikers managed 162 runs in 20 overs despite the first over loss of the captain following an edge from a fiery bouncer by Abdul Rasheed, while Satheesh (62) top scored for Strikers.
In reply, Tornado captained by Dona (65) was uncompromising and hit three consecutive boundaries in the eighth over to ensure victory with good support from vice-captain Anto Varghese (42).
After losing three quick wickets, Sameer and Rizwan steadied the innings with Subeesh hit the winning runs with a six over square leg with four deliveries to spare to secure victory.
It was the first title for Tornado CC in its three years of existence and manager Thaju Shibili appreciated the efforts of all team members and thanked its new sponsor Farooq (Khalid Saad Trading) for the support and commitment.
