‘Sports clinic brings top treatment’
The National Sports Medicine Centre’s first specialised sports medicine and injuries clinic is now open and fully functional as from yesterday.
It is the first-of-its-kind clinic of the centre, which is under the umbrella of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) and provides additional services for the treatment of injured Bahraini and non-Bahraini athletes.
Based at Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town, the clinic is supervised by Dr Francisco Chapman of Cuba, and is part of the BOC massive project aimed to develop the National Sports Medicine Centre facilities and services.
According to Chapman, the clinic is only open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5pm until 8pm and interested athletes can call the reception in advance to book an appointment.
State-of-art technologies are used at the clinic, providing modern techniques for treatment of different types of injuries with efficiency, including torn muscle injuries.
“Our main goal here is to make the National Sports Medicine Centre as one of the best specialised facilities for sports injuries treatment and rehabilitation, thanks to the support from Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa,” said Chapman.
Dr Chapman has been working in the field of sports medicine and sports injuries since 1992 and served for several years in India.
