Al-Attiyah Dominates Jordan Rally for Record 18th Win
Qatari rally star Nasser Saleh Al-Attiyah claimed a record-extending 18th victory at the Jordan Rally after winning all 12 special stages across the Dead Sea and Jordan Valley routes.
Driving a Škoda Fabia RS alongside co-driver Candido Carrera, Al-Attiyah secured victory by 3min 53.7sec and moved into the lead of the FIA Middle East Rally Championship standings.
Oman’s Abdullah Al-Rawahi finished second after a consistent performance throughout the weekend, while Saudi Arabia’s Hamza Bakhashab completed the podium in third place despite suffering double punctures during stage nine.
Speaking after the win, Al-Attiyah said his team worked hard to secure maximum points and praised the car setup after maintaining a dominant pace throughout the rally.
The regional rally championship will resume in Lebanon from September 11 to 13.
