Bahraini football clubs are set to undergo several important squad changes ahead of the 2026–2027 football season, with a transfer agreement and multiple contract extensions involving leading domestic players.
Bahrain international Ahmed Bughammar is expected to join Muharraq from Al Khaldiya ahead of the 2026–2027 season. The move will strengthen Muharraq’s defensive options as they prepare for both domestic and regional competitions.
The development comes shortly after the two sides met on Monday in the Nasser Bin Hamad Premier League. In that match, Muharraq secured a 2–1 victory over Al Khaldiya, a result that proved decisive in the title race and saw Muharraq move to the top of the standings heading into the final matchweek of the 2025–2026 season.
In related moves, Riffa have agreed terms for winger Ali Madan to extend his stay for three additional seasons, maintaining his role as a key attacking outlet for the squad.
Riffa have also reached an agreement to extend midfielder Ali Haram for one further season, securing his involvement through the 2026–2027 campaign.
