Budaiya taekwondo trio lift Bahrain medal tally

Bahrain’s taekwondo athletes delivered a standout performance at the Arab Women’s Sports Tournament in Sharjah, UAE, adding three medals to the kingdom’s growing tally as the event heads into its final day tomorrow.
Fatima Sadeq Kalawadh claimed gold in the under-49kg category, Hanan Yusuf AlSherooqi secured silver in the under-57kg division, while Sara Jallab earned bronze in the under-67kg event, with all three representing Budaiya Club.
The latest successes raised Bahrain’s overall medal count to nine—four golds, two silvers and three bronzes.
Founded in 2012, the biennial Arab Women’s Sports Tournament is the only event of its kind dedicated exclusively to women’s sport and is held under the patronage of Her Highness Shaikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, chairperson of the organizing committee and wife of the Ruler of Sharjah.
