Muharraq Club were officially crowned champions of the 2024/2025 Nasser bin Hamad Bahrain Premier League following their final league match against A’ali Club at Muharraq Stadium.
The title presentation was led by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King's Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, in the presence of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
In his remarks, Shaikh Nasser congratulated Muharraq on clinching the league title, praising the team’s season-long consistency and professionalism. “This victory reflects the club’s professional, results-driven approach. It’s a credit to the synergy between the technical and administrative teams and the players’ commitment to playing as one unit,” he said.
Muharraq’s road to the title was marked by a series of dominant performances, none more significant than their emphatic 6-1 victory over Manama in the 18th round on May 7. The win, which took place at the Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium in Arad, was the decisive moment of the season, securing the championship with one match to spare.
In that match, Ellit Simoes and Soufian Mahrouq both netted braces, while Juninho and Husain Abdulkarim added their names to the scoresheet. The result took Muharraq to 47 points—an unassailable lead in the standings and a fitting demonstration of their dominance throughout the campaign.
Shaikh Nasser lauded the high-level performances, discipline, and determination shown by the squad, describing the title as “a strong motivation for future success” and a reaffirmation of Muharraq’s legacy as one of the foundational clubs in Bahraini football.
Beyond Muharraq’s achievements, Shaikh Nasser applauded the overall level of competition in this season’s league, noting the sportsmanship and technical quality across all participating clubs. He extended his thanks to the Bahrain Football Association, led by Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, for their excellent organizational work and successful management of the league season.
As the curtain falls on another exciting campaign, Muharraq stand tall—champions once again, powered by a deep-rooted winning culture.
