Bahrain secured a resounding 8-wicket victory over Singapore in the SINGAS & PEARLS T20I Cup, sealing the series in dominant fashion. A stellar performance by Prashant Kurup, who was named Player of the Match for his brilliant 57 off 38 balls, guided Bahrain to a comfortable chase of 143.
Singapore’s Competitive Total Falls Short
Opting to bat first, Singapore posted a competitive total of 142, with Manpreet Singh leading the charge with a fluent 48 off 31 balls. Aritra Dutta contributed with a quick-fire 24 off 18, while Ishaan Paul Sawney added a late flourish with 20 off 12 deliveries. However, Bahrain’s disciplined bowling attack ensured Singapore never gained full momentum.
Ali Dawood starred with the ball, claiming 3 wickets for 25 runs in his four overs. Muhammad Rizwan (2/25) and Sai Sarthak Vaddiraju (2/30) provided valuable support, while Abdul Majid Abbasi (1/28) chipped in with a crucial wicket, restricting Singapore’s batting efforts.
Bahrain’s Clinical Chase
Bahrain’s pursuit of 143 was led by an outstanding 108-run opening partnership between Fiaz Ahmed and Prashant Kurup. Fiaz played a measured innings, scoring 58 off 52 balls, striking five fours and two sixes. Kurup, on the other hand, took an aggressive approach, hammering nine boundaries and a six in his 38-ball stay at the crease.
After the dismissal of the openers, Sohail Ahmed (15*) and Ahmer Bin Nasir (11*) ensured Bahrain comfortably crossed the finish line in just 19 overs, finishing at 146/2.
