The players starting in the morning had fairly good conditions, while around noon the wind started blowing with force, sometimes showering the players with sand.
In the morning, it was Lee McIlear leading with a 76 gross, a great round with one unfortunate hole costing him three shots. Jasper, playing in the afternoon, had a great steady round, keeping the ball under the wind and clubbing up to be able to swing relaxed, earning him a 75 gross, which turned out to be the lowest score of the day. Lee McIlear won the first division with a net 71.
Fun fact: Jasper won the same A&E Corona Classic last year.
The overall winner for best net score was Susan Scott, the only player to beat her handicap with a net 69. This was a great achievement and proof once more that, despite circumstances, if you play well, nothing can stop you.
Salah Musbah Al Kaabi won division two with a net 71, as did Sarah Hobday, winning division three also with a net 71.
The prizes were made possible through the generous and continuing sponsorship of African and Eastern and handed out by Captain Steve Newall and TD Nathan Sundaresan.
