Takaful International announces its financial results for the six-month period ended 30 June 2026
The Board of Directors of Takaful International Company B.S.C. (Trading Code: TAKAFUL) approved the financial results for the period ended June 30, 2026.
The financial results for the three months ended 30 June 2026
The net profit attributable to the shareholders after tax was BD 306K for the three months ending on June 30, 2026, compared with a net profit of BD 178K for the same period in the previous year, an increase of 72%. Comparatively, earnings per share increased to 3.61 Fils from 2.10 Fils for the same period in the previous year. Total comprehensive income attributable to the shareholders of the Company for the three months ended 30 June 2026 surged to BD 331K compared to BD 149K for the same period in the previous year, an increase of 122%.
The Company reported a total net profit after tax of BD 246K during the second quarter of the year 2026 compared to BD 205K for the same period in the previous year, with an increase of 20%. The shareholders’ fund achieved a profit after tax of BD 306K during the second quarter of the year 2026, compared to a profit of BD 178K for the same period of the previous year, an increase of 72%. This increase is mainly attributed to the increase in the income from investments during the period. While the Takaful Participants’ Funds incurred a deficit of BD 60K during the second quarter of 2026, compared to a surplus of BD 26K for the same period of the previous year. This decline in the performance of the Takaful Participants’ funds is primarily driven by higher claims reserves during the period compared with the corresponding period of the previous year, together with the increase in claims costs.
Recognized takaful contributions were BD 8.493 million for the three months period ending on 30 June 2026, compared to BD 7.306 million for the same period of the previous year, an increase of 16%. Recognized Takaful Costs were BD 6.301 million during the three months period ending on 30 June 2026 compared to BD 6.185 million in the same period of the previous year, with an increase of 2%.
The financial results for the six months ended 30 June 2026
The net profit attributable to the shareholders after tax was BD 736K for the six months ending on June 30, 2026, compared with a net profit of BD 600K for the same period in the previous year, an increase of 23%. Comparatively, earnings per share increased to 8.68 Fils from 7.07 Fils for the same period in the previous year. The comprehensive income attributable to the shareholders of the Company for the six-month period ending on 30 June 2026, was BD 568K, compared to a profit of BD 592K for the same period of the previous year, a decrease of 4%.
The Company reported a total net profit after tax of BD 839K during the six months ending on 30 June 2026 compared to BD 761K for the same period of the previous year, with an increase of 10%. The shareholders’ fund achieved a profit after tax of BD 736K during the six months ending on 30 June 2026, compared to a profit of BD 600K for the same period of the previous year, an increase of 23%. The Takaful Participants’ Funds achieved a surplus after tax of BD 103K during the six months ending on 30 June 2026, compared to a surplus of BD 160K for the same period of the previous year, a decrease of 36%.
Recognized Takaful contributions were BD 16.393 million for the six months ending on 30 June 2026, compared to BD 14.146 million for the same period of the previous year, an increase of 16%. Recognized Takaful Costs were BD 12.533 million during the six months period ending on 30 June 2026, compared to BD 11.912 million in the same period of the previous year, with an increase of 5%.
The company’s shareholders equity amounted to BD 12.396 million as of 30 June 2026, compared to BD 13.100 million as of 31 December 2025, a decrease of 5%.
The company's total assets increased by 1% to BD 46.997 million as of 30 June 2026, compared to BD 46.592 million as of 31 December 2025.
Statement of the Chairman of the Board of Directors
Mr. Ebrahim Al Rayes, Chairman of the Board of Directors, stated that the Company delivered a resilient performance during the second quarter of the year 2026 despite the continued regional uncertainty.
