NBB Launches Fifth Edition of EVOLVE Summer Internship Programme

The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) officially commenced the 2026 edition of EVOLVE, its flagship summer internship programme. Now in its fifth year, the programme builds on the Bank’s longstanding commitment to the continued development of national talent.

EVOLVE continues to serve as a structured learning platform that bridges academic knowledge with practical experience, enabling high school and university students to develop a deeper understanding of the banking and financial services sector. This year’s programme welcomes participants from 12 schools and 7 universities, with the school cohort already underway. Through a combination of interactive classroom sessions, practical assignments, and on-the-job training, participants will gain first-hand exposure to the Bank’s operations while building the confidence and professional awareness required to succeed in an evolving industry.

The programme’s curriculum has been designed to offer students a well-rounded and engaging experience, covering key areas across banking, innovation, digital transformation, customer service, and responsible business practices. This year’s external trainings are being delivered by Mada Translation, Marsh, Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance (BIBF), Emeritus, Bahrain Fintech Bay, Paramedics Academy, INJAZ Bahrain, Mumtalakat, and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). The sessions encompass a wide array of topics, such as sign language, mental health awareness, team building, artificial intelligence (AI), fintech, first aid, entrepreneurship, sovereign wealth funds, and cybersecurity.

Interns will also benefit from trainings conducted by NBB employees and external subject matter experts, who will share insights into different professional disciplines and the opportunities available within the financial services sector.

Commenting on the occasion, Hend Mahmood, Group Chief Human Resources Officer at NBB, said, “EVOLVE has reached its fifth year because of the role it is playing in enhancing the capabilities of young people to actively serve Bahrain’s economic growth aspirations. Our mandate as a national institution extends beyond providing financial services, as we have a responsibility to open doors, transfer knowledge, and create environments where talent can grow with purpose. By giving students access to practical learning and professional mentorship, we are helping them make informed choices about their future while contributing to a stronger pipeline of competent and ambitious Bahrainis.”
