Online shopping has become the preferred choice for many in the Middle East, especially during Ramadan, as customers enjoy more options and can avoid crowded malls. Many rely on platforms like Amazon, Temu, and Shein to get gifts and clothes for Eid.
However, ongoing disruptions in Bahrain and the GCC are affecting deliveries, leaving shoppers uncertain about receiving their orders on time. Major platforms have updated their delivery timelines: Temu now estimates 6–20 days (previously 7–15 days), Shein 8–10 days (previously 5–8 days), and Amazon shows some products taking 35–45 days (previously under 35 days). Several merchants have temporarily paused shipments, and freight forwarders warn that costs and delays could increase if the situation continues. Delivery times may change further depending on the region’s unstable conditions.
Fatima Hussain told Al-Bahrain newspaper, “I placed my order on February 28 to make sure it would arrive, but now, after more than two weeks, I don’t expect it to reach me because of the current situation. I’m very sad about this because I don’t like going to the markets.”
Similarly, Zainab Ahmed shared, “I don’t know what to do because my order won’t arrive. I’ve lost hope, and with less than two weeks until Eid, I haven’t bought anything yet since all my orders are online from A to Z.”
As online shopping remains a popular choice due to unstable conditions, orders are often delayed, leaving shoppers wondering when their packages will arrive and causing many to worry about their Eid preparations.
