Bahrain Works Ministry supports major development projects for the benefit of citizens and residents

The Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning support all projects that promote the concept of community partnership for the benefit of citizens and residents.

During a visit to the plant nursery of Anwar Bu Hamad in Busaiteen, Minister Eng. Essam bin Abdullah Khalaf said that such project exemplifies a sense of national responsibility towards society.

The nursery project located on land adjacent to his residence aims to promote afforestation and increase green spaces in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Dr Khalaf affirmed the Ministry’s support for the project to preserve the environment. “The Ministry has many strategic projects. The primary goal of our projects is to serve the citizens as they are the true partners in maintaining cleanliness and promoting afforestation and greening,” said the Minister.

Hamad is producing trees and flowers that he distributes for free to people who want to cultivate their homes or open spaces.

He also provides agricultural advice to those who wish to do so, free of charge, as his own way of promoting community partnership. Hamad expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Minister for his personal visit to the nursery and for providing all the support required for the continuation of his project. “I also extend my sincere thanks to the Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs, Eng. Shaikh Muhammad bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, as well as the Director-General of Muharraq Municipality, Eng. Ibrahim Al Jowder, and all my supporters in this project,” said Hamad.

Minister Khalaf also affirmed the Ministry’s keenness to support projects for the development of walkways and waterfronts during his visit to Al Ghous Corniche in Muharraq.

He was with the Undersecretary for Municipalities Affairs, Eng. Shaikh Muhammad bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and Director General of Muharraq Municipality, Ibrahim Yusef Al Jowder, they reviewed the development and maintenance works in the corniche.

The Minister pointed out that the process of developing waterfronts is an ongoing process with the municipalities. He added that large sums of money are pumped annually for the maintenance and development of public facilities such as parks and walkways.

The Ministry noted that it supports all efforts to preserve the safety of coasts, seafronts and corniches.
