Sewage stations upgrade achieves 55 pc progress
Manama : Sanitary Engineering Planning & Projects Director of the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Nazha Abu Hindi revealed that the Ministry has achieved 55 per cent progress in the upgrade of seven sewage stations located in Hamad Town, Muharraq and Abu Saiba’a.
According to Abu Hindi, the project aims at increasing the capacity of sewerage networks, reduce defects, maintain sewage stations, prolong their life span and ensure sustainability.
Works also includes the renewal of electrical and mechanical tools and equipment at the sewage stations.
The stations will also be supplied with new pumps, internal pipelines, valves, electrical control panels, control systems, sensors and other related civil works.
The BD2,200,000 was earlier awarded to Salmic Contracting.
